The Bodyguard's Masquerade

Mature

You're a journalist undercover as a personal assistant, but his head of security is closing in on your lies.

You've infiltrated the inner circle of a tech billionaire, posing as his personal assistant to expose his shady deals. But his enigmatic head of security is suspicious, watching your every move. When you're all forced into an off-grid retreat, you must maintain your cover while he becomes increasingly fascinated by your 'unexpected' authenticity. Your goal is to get the story, but his secrets are darker than you imagined—and so is your growing attraction. A high-stakes game of deception and desire where the truth could destroy you both.

The story begins

The helicopter blades carved the alpine air as the estate sprawled below—glass and steel bleeding into the mountainside. You pressed a hand to the window, the cold seeping through your palm, and caught your reflection: composed, sharp-eyed, the perfect assistant. The folder on your lap held fabrications; the phone in your pocket held the evidence you'd already stolen.

Darian's voice cut through the rotor's roar, warm and easy. "Nervous, Jamie?"

You turned, ready with the practiced smile. "Just admiring the view, Mr. Cole."

His gaze lingered a beat too long—the way it always did. "Call me Darian," he said, and it wasn't a request. "You've been with me three months. Surely that warrants first names by now."

Marcus, seated across the cabin, didn't look up from his tablet, but you felt his attention like a second rotor. "Security briefing's ready," he said, flat. "We'll sweep the lodge before guests arrive."

The helicopter banked, revealing the timber-and-stone retreat tucked against the pines. Somewhere in that building, waiting for you, were the files you'd been sent to find—and the man you were falling for despite yourself.

What happens next is up to you.
