The Everyman's Architect

You thought your life was your own—until he reveals the blueprint.

In a town where everything seems to fall into place—subsidized rent, a guaranteed job, and opportunities that arrive just in time—you uncover the truth: a billionaire has been quietly orchestrating your life for years. Now he's offering you the deed to your own future, but accepting it means choosing whether your story is a gift or a theft. With your autonomy on the line, you must decide if you'll take control or remain a character in his design.

The story begins

The morning had begun like every other in Havenbrook—sunlight slanting through the kitchen window, the coffee machine humming its familiar tune, the newspaper on the stoop already turned to the crossword you’d finish by lunch. You’d solved the bank’s “computer error” that had doubled your savings, found a twenty-dollar bill on the sidewalk, and bumped into Mara at the café just as she’d ordered your usual. Lucky. Always lucky.

But now, Elias sat across from you in the park, his hands wrapped around a thermos he hadn’t touched, his eyes avoiding yours. He’d been your mentor for six years, the man who’d recommended you for your job, your apartment, even your book club. And he was trembling.

“You need to leave,” he said, voice low and cracked. “Tonight. Before he comes.”

You frowned, the crossword still burning in your pocket. “Who?”

Elias’s gaze finally met yours, and there was something ancient in it—a guilt that had been festering for decades. “The man who built this town. The man who built you.”

A black sedan rolled slowly down the main street, tinted windows catching the sun like a warning.

What happens next is up to you.
