The Last Mask

Mature

Undercover as a high-end escort, you're hired by the very tycoon you're investigating—and the closer he gets, the harder it is to keep your mask on.

You're an undercover agent posing as a luxury escort to dismantle a trafficking ring. When the billionaire at the center hires you personally, you're thrust into his gilded world of penthouses and power. As he peels back your layers, you must decide: blow your cover and save the operation, or let the one man who sees the real you in—and risk everything. A steamy, high-stakes romance where every touch is a lie and every truth could be fatal.

The story begins

The penthouse air was thick with perfume and the low hum of a city that never slept. You stood by the floor-to-ceiling glass, your reflection a ghost against the glittering skyline, and watched Damian Thorne pour two glasses of scotch. His back was to you, broad and immaculate in a charcoal suit, but you'd learned to read men by the set of their shoulders. His were tight. Calculating.

"Your file said you don't drink," he said, turning. The amber liquid caught the light as he extended a crystal glass toward you. His eyes—gray and unreadable—traveled your face with a precision that made your skin prickle. "But I've found that files lie."

You smiled, the practiced curve of a mask. "Then they're not lying about me."

He didn't smile back. He crossed the room in three slow strides, close enough that you caught the cedar and smoke of his cologne, and set the untouched glass on the table beside you. His hand hovered near your wrist, not quite touching.

"I've had a hundred escorts in this room," he said, voice low. "None of them looked at the exits before they looked at me."

What happens next is up to you.
