The Reel of Ruin

You inherit a cursed cinema and a billionaire's darkest secret—now he'll burn it all to keep you quiet.

Your grandfather, a man you never knew, left you a crumbling movie theater and a vault of vintage reels. But the first film you screen shows your own face, and the billionaire who once destroyed your mother's career is desperate to buy it back before anyone sees the final reel. As you uncover the truth behind the footage, you realize the past is not just history—it's a weapon. Will you sell your inheritance and walk away, or risk everything to expose the man who ruined your family?

The story begins

The projector whirred to life with a sound like a dying animal, and the beam cut through the dust-heavy air of the theater. You stood in the vault doorway, your grandfather's cold key still warming in your palm, watching a film you'd found labeled only with a date: February 14, 1982.

The screen flickered. A woman in a silver gown, laughing. Then a man—your grandfather, younger, sharp-eyed—turning toward the camera. And then, impossibly, a child. A girl of about five, sitting on a velvet stool, staring straight into the lens. She had your face. The same mole above the lip. The same stubborn set of the jaw.

Your breath caught. The film kept rolling. The child raised a hand and waved—not at the camera, but at someone just off-frame. A voice, muffled and warm, said "That's my girl." Your mother's voice, before the years wore it thin.

The reel snapped. The screen went white.

Behind you, a throat cleared. You spun. The old projectionist stood in the doorway, his eyes wet, his hands trembling around a tin of popcorn.

"You found it," he said. "Then you know. She never wanted you to see."

What happens next is up to you.
