The Hollow Summit

Mature

You chart the unmapped peak, but the gate you unlock knows your name.

You are a cartographer hired to survey an uncharted peak, seeking the glory of a first ascent and the treasure rumored to lie hidden in its ice. But when your expedition is attacked by a creature that defies every law of nature, you stumble into a hidden chamber and discover the truth: the mountain is a sealed gate, and the thing that escaped is something you know intimately. Now, with your crew dead or scattered, you must decide whether to reseal the gate—and imprison yourself with the horror—or let it hunt the world beyond, carrying your secret with it. A tale of survival, betrayal, and impossible choices in the frozen heights, where every step risks awakening the past you've buried.

The story begins

The wind screamed against the canvas of your tent, a sound like a wounded animal, and you were already awake when the first scream cut through it. You knew that scream. You’d heard it in your dreams for weeks, a sound you’d tried to bury under ink and parchment. You were on your feet, the worn map clutched in one hand, the silver locket cold against your chest, before your conscious mind could catch up.

Maren’s voice, sharp and frantic, sliced through the camp’s chaos. “It’s taking Larsen!” You could hear the terror in her cry, but you could also hear the accusation, the unspoken question that had been growing between you since the journey began. You knew this mountain. You knew its name, etched in your own hand on the map you’d never shown anyone. A trap of your own making, and the creature was loose.

Elias Voss stood at the tent’s entrance, his face a mask of fury and fear. “You knew,” he growled, not a question. “You knew what was up here, didn’t you?”

What happens next is up to you.
