The Scripted Horizon

You hold the book that tells your death — now you must enter the dungeon to rewrite it.

You wake on the familiar ferry to the quiet town of Greymouth, but the book in your satchel is anything but ordinary. It narrates your every move, from this moment to the exact second the dungeon beneath the town square claims your life. The author's name is yours — but you've never written a word. To survive, you must descend into the labyrinthine dungeon, find the author, and rewrite your ending before the story catches up with you. A metafictional survival adventure where every choice is a plot twist and the final page is the only way out.

The story begins

The ferry's horn bleats across the fog, a sound swallowed almost instantly by the grey. You're on your feet before the boat fully docks, the satchel's leather strap digging into your shoulder. The book is there, heavy and warm, as if it's been reading you back. The dock planks groan under your boots as you step onto the slick stone of Greymouth's harbor. The town is a watercolor painting left in the rain: chimneys exhale thin smoke, a dog watches you from a doorway, and the silence is a held breath.

You find a bench near the square and open the book to the final chapter. The ink is fresh, the handwriting yours. It describes this exact moment: He sits on a bench, reading this sentence, and feels a chill that has nothing to do with the fog. A cold wind curls around your neck. The page also states: He will die in the third chamber, three days from now, by a blade he will not see coming.

Your throat tightens. The town square yawns before you, the dungeon's entrance a black maw of worn stone steps descending into the earth.

What happens next is up to you.
