The Scripted Life

Every coincidence was his design—now choose your own ending.

You thought your life was a series of lucky breaks: the perfect job, the ideal apartment, the chance encounter that changed everything. But when a reclusive billionaire reveals he's been orchestrating it all from the shadows, your reality shatters. He claims it was all for love, but the only way to reclaim your freedom is to play along with his next scripted scene—one where the only role left is his. Will you let the puppet master pull your strings, or rewrite the story before the final curtain?

The story begins

The elevator hummed its ascent, a silken sound that felt like a warning. You pressed your palm flat against the cool brass railing, grounding yourself against the vertigo of the fortieth floor. The invitation had been unsigned, the card stock heavy and watermarked with a single letter—V—that had burned in your pocket all day. You told yourself it was curiosity. A mystery. A story to tell Marlowe over cheap wine.

The doors slid open onto a penthouse that smelled of cedar and cold rain. Every surface gleamed—marble, glass, steel—but the room felt hollow, a stage waiting for its actor. And there he stood at the window, back to you, silhouette cut against the city's billion lights.

"You came," Adrian Voss said, not turning. His voice was low, almost gentle. "I knew you would. I've always known."

On the glass table beside him lay a scrapbook, leather-bound and worn at the edges. Your name embossed in gold. When he finally turned, his smile held a tenderness that made your stomach drop.

"I have a story to tell you," he said. "It's about your life. And it starts long before you ever heard my name."

What happens next is up to you.
