The Starweaver's Ascent

You are the last weaver of starlight, and your escape from the dungeon is killing the only power that can save the world.

Imprisoned for years in a forgotten dungeon, you are the last starweaver—a master of light-magic that holds back the dark. But as the stars begin to die and the walls crack open, escape means losing the very magic that defines you. With every step toward the surface, your power dims, and soon you'll face the impossible choice: save yourself or save the night. A dark fantasy of survival, sacrifice, and the cost of hope.

The story begins

The first crack splits the wall with a sound like a rib breaking. Dust sifts down through the carved constellations, and where the fissure runs, a thread of pale light leaks through—the first true light you've seen in years. Your hands, still bound in the old woven cords, tremble against the stone floor. The light is faint, dying, like a heartbeat at the end of a long night.

You must rise, whispers the Ember, its voice a scratch of static against your skull. The Warden has left his post. The stars are falling, one by one, and you are the only needle left to stitch them back.

You push yourself up. The cords fall away, rotted by time. Your magic stirs somewhere deep in your chest, sluggish, anchored to these walls like a root. Every step toward the surface will tear it loose.

From the corridor beyond, a voice—low, amused, edged with desperation.

"Well. The last starweaver, finally awake. And just in time to watch the sky die."

What happens next is up to you.
