The Architect's Wasteland Test

You wake up to find your life is a simulation—now escape the wasteland before your patron rewrites you.

You wake up one morning to discover that your job, your friends, and even your memories are part of an elaborate simulation crafted by a mysterious patron. The only way out is to venture into the wasteland beyond your constructed world, where the rules are real and the dangers are deadly. But your bodyguard is just a program, and your patron is watching every move you make. Will you risk everything for freedom, or accept a life that isn't yours?

The story begins

The air in the Pavilion smelled of rain and ozone—a scent so perfect it felt painted on. You stood at the edge of the grand fountain, its marble cherubs frozen mid-laugh, and watched the crowd drift like paper boats. They never looked up. None of them ever looked up.

But you did.

Above the crystalline dome, beyond the city's shimmering skin, the sky rippled. A crack. Thin as a hairline fracture in porcelain, bleeding a dull amber light that no one else seemed to see. Your hand tightened around the smooth metal canister in your coat pocket—warm, humming faintly, a secret you'd carried for three days now.

A voice cut through the hum. "You're staring again."

You turned. The street-cleaner bot had paused beside you, its chrome face tilted in that wrong, curious way. Its voice box crackled. "The sky is lovely today, isn't it?"

It had never spoken to you before. It had never spoken to anyone.

What happens next is up to you.
