The Butler's Wild Hunt
MatureGuide the hunt that could save your father—or lose yourself to the forest's ancient heart.
As the groundskeeper of a crumbling noble estate, you know the wild woods better than anyone—and you know the dark secrets buried beneath its roots. When the lord's daughter is stolen into the forest, the arrogant master hunter who despises you forces you to lead the search. But the real treasure you seek is a cure for your dying father, hidden in the forest's heart, and the woods demand a sacrifice only you can give. Will you betray the hunt to save your family, or lose everything to the wild?
The story begins
The morning air carried the scent of wet earth and something older, something that clung to the back of your throat like smoke. You’d been up since before dawn, boots caked with mud from the estate’s overgrown trails, when the great bell tolled once—a sound that had not rung in years, not since the Lady Ashworth had been carried into the chapel.
Roderick found you at the kennels, hounds snapping at the iron bars. He didn’t bother with a greeting. His eyes, pale as winter frost, swept over your patched coat and dirt-stained hands with the same disdain he’d shown you since you were a boy.
“The lord wants you,” he said, the words clipped as a blade. “Isolde’s gone. Taken.”
The forest pressed its silence against the edge of the yard, vast and waiting. You knew what it wanted. You’d always known.
“You’ll guide us,” Roderick added, jaw tight. “And you’ll do it without your games, or I’ll see you hanged for wasting our time.”
The hounds whined. The trees leaned closer, listening.
