The Cartographer's Cage

You drew the map that imprisons you—now redraw it before the architect erases you.

As a humble mapmaker, you've spent your life charting unknown lands, but a terrifying discovery shatters your reality: every village, road, and mountain you've ever drawn is a cage designed to confine you. The borders of your world are the lines you traced with your own hand, and the architect who penned your life is watching your every move. To break free, you must redraw the map, but every correction risks unraveling the very fabric of existence. In this mind-bending adventure of survival and self-discovery, the only way out is to rewrite the rules of reality itself.

The story begins

The lantern guttered as you pressed your palm flat against the cold stone of the Guild archive, tracing the faint seam you'd noticed for weeks—a hairline crack in the plaster that no one else seemed to see. Your fingers found the edge of something hidden, a panel disguised as wall. It slid open with a whisper of dust, revealing a recessed shelf and a single rolled parchment, yellowed and brittle.

Your heart hammered as you unrolled it. The ink was your own—you recognized the meticulous strokes, the way you always pressed harder on the L in "Lake." But you had never drawn this. A map of a land you didn't know, with borders that curved and twisted like living things. And at the bottom, a signature in a hand that was almost yours but not quite: The Architect.

Behind you, a floorboard creaked.

You spun, the parchment clutched to your chest. The archive was empty, but the shadows between the shelves had grown longer, darker, as if the ink itself was seeping into the air.

"Looking for something, Master?"

Quill stood in the doorway, their smile too sharp, their eyes too knowing. They took a step closer, and the lantern flame guttered again.

What happens next is up to you.
