The Last Cartographer

Chart the world's last paths—or watch it fall apart.

You are the final cartographer who can read the meridian lines, the invisible paths that keep the mountains from collapsing. When a bitter, exiled general forces you to guide him through the crumbling range, you discover he's hiding a devastating secret. As the world fractures around you, you must decide: trust the man who could destroy everything, or find your own way through the end of the world. A tale of survival, betrayal, and the maps we draw to save what we love.

The story begins

The door of your study splintered inward, and the cold wind that rushed through carried the smell of smoke and wet earth. You were on your feet before you knew it, ink-stained fingers hovering over the open atlas on your desk—the last map you would ever draw in this house.

Soldiers filled the doorway, grey wool and steel. They parted for a man in a dark coat, taller than the rest, with the hollow eyes of someone who had already lost everything once and refused to lose again. General Kael.

“You see them,” he said. Not a question.

Outside, the mountain groaned—a low, grinding sound that made the floorboards tremble. You felt it in your teeth. The meridian lines flickered at the edge of your vision, gold and sickly, one of them fraying like a torn thread.

Then Mira stepped out from behind him. Her face was thinner than you remembered, her smile sharp as a blade.

“Hello, old friend,” she said. “The range is dying. You’re going to help us save it.”

The mountain groaned again, and you felt it in your chest.

What happens next is up to you.
