The Stowaway's Secret

Mature

You inherit a shipping empire and a chained billionaire in the hold—free him and lose everything, or keep him and become the jailer you swore to hate.

You've just inherited your late uncle's shipping empire and his private yacht, but the real cargo is a man chained in the hold—a billionaire who claims your uncle stole his company. Now you face an impossible choice: free him and lose your inheritance, or keep him prisoner and become the very thing you despise. As the truth about your uncle's empire unravels, you'll navigate power, betrayal, and a forbidden attraction that could sink you both.

The story begins

The salt wind whipped your hair across your face as the launch cut through the black water toward the Meridian, your uncle’s yacht, a floating monument to a man you barely knew. The letter had arrived with his death, the lawyer’s voice flat and final: You are the sole heir. Now you stood on the aft deck, the teak still warm from the sun, the sea a bruised violet under a dying sky. The air smelled of diesel and money.

Below, in the hold, the air was cold and metallic. The chains clinked as the man shifted, his wrists raw, his shirt torn. He raised his head, and even in the dim light, his eyes were the color of winter ice, sharp and unreadable.

“You’re not him,” he said, his voice rough with thirst. “You’re the nephew. The one who got away.”

You didn’t answer. You were still holding the key the captain had pressed into your palm without a word.

“Adrian Vance,” he said. “I’m worth more than this boat. And your uncle—” he smiled, a thin, dangerous thing. “He didn’t just steal my company. He stole my life.”

What happens next is up to you.
