The Deep-Cover Courier

Your forged seal is burning through your skin—and the relic you carry knows your true name.

You are a spy buried deep in the Sky-King's court, playing the part of a loyal courier while waiting for the signal to strike. But your cover is unraveling: the royal seal you forged to gain passage is now searing into your flesh, a brand that will expose you as a traitor. Your only hope is to deliver a stolen relic to your rebel contact—but the contact is dead, the Sky-King's hunters are closing in, and the relic has begun to speak to you in a voice that knows your real name. In a kingdom where every shadow hides a blade and every word is a lie, can you outrun the truth—or will the relic's secrets consume you before the Sky-King's justice does? A high-stakes adventure of espionage, survival, and impossible choices.

The story begins

The seal beneath your collar seared like a live coal, and you bit the inside of your cheek to keep from flinching. The marble corridor of the Sky-King's palace gleamed under sconce-light, and two guards nodded as you passed—your forged credentials painting you as a minor logistics clerk. They didn't see the smoke curling faintly from your collar.

You ducked into an alcove, hands shaking as you pulled the seal free. It glowed a sickly amber, the royal sigil rippling against your skin, leaving a red welt shaped like a hawk's claw. The sorcerers would know by dawn. Maybe sooner.

The relic in your satchel pulsed—a heartbeat, rhythmic, warm against your ribs. Its voice came soft, silk over steel. "The dead drop is a trap, and you know it. They found your contact hours ago. But I can show you the passages even Veyra doesn't know. All you have to do is listen."

You pressed the seal back against your chest, hissing as it burned deeper. Somewhere above, a bell tolled—the changing of the guard. Your window was closing.

What happens next is up to you.
