Tidebond Legacy
Return to your drowned village, where your twin offers a choice that could raise a kingdom or unleash a monster.
After a decade at sea, you return to your flood-ravaged island village, only to find it under the iron rule of a cult hoarding relics of the sunken kingdom. Your estranged twin, now the cult's leader, offers you the ultimate treasure—your old home—if you help raise the city from the deep. But the cost is unleashing a monster that will swallow everything you love. Navigate betrayal, family bonds, and ancient magic in this epic tale of survival and impossible choices.
The story begins
The skiff groaned against the jetty as you leapt ashore, salt spray stinging your eyes. The village you remembered—painted shutters, fishing nets drying in the sun—was gone. In its place, black stones slick with tide, and figures in grey robes moving silent as eels between the huddled cottages.
A gull screamed overhead. You smelled it before you saw it: the rot of offerings piled at the waterline, fish and flowers and something darker, laid at the feet of a crude stone idol half-swallowed by the surf.
"Maren said you'd come."
You turned. Kael stood ten paces off, a rope coiled over his shoulder, his jaw tight beneath a beard you didn't recognize. Ten years had carved him differently—harder, quieter. His eyes flicked to the idol, then back to you.
"She's waiting in the tide chapel. Wants to show you what we've become." A pause, heavy as the sea air. "Or what we're trying to bring back."
The waves crashed harder against the jetty, and beneath them, you could have sworn you heard something breathing.
