The Puppeteer's Atlas
You are the mapmaker's apprentice, and the map has just cracked — now escape the false world before the architect's trap seals you in.
You are a mapmaker's apprentice, content in a world that fits together neatly — until the day the lines shift. You've discovered your entire existence is a fabricated map, a simulation built by a mad architect to conceal a treasure so vast it rewrites reality. His craft has just cracked, and you must escape this false reality while hunting the true prize. But your own creator is the only being who knows the way, and trusting him may be the final betrayal.
The story begins
The quill scratched against the parchment, but your eyes weren't on the ink. They were on the horizon—where the twin peaks of Mount Veyra should have been. They were gone. Not hidden by clouds, not obscured by distance. Gone, as if the world had simply forgotten them.
You blinked. Rubbed your eyes. Looked again. The peaks were back, jagged and snow-capped, exactly as they'd always been. But for one heartbeat—no, less than that, a flicker—the land had ended in a flat, featureless gray.
Your master's voice drifted from the workshop below. "Apprentice! The star charts for the eastern provinces, now!"
You looked down at the parchment in your hands. The star you'd been sketching sat in the wrong position—shifted three degrees from where it belonged. You'd drawn it three times. It was right. And yet.
The workshop door banged open. Mira stood there, breathless, her eyes wide. "You felt it too," she said. It wasn't a question.
