The Tapestry of Lies
Your whole life is a lie—and the truth waits beyond a glacier that will rewrite you.
In a quiet mountain village, you live a simple life as a weaver. But when a raider's map falls into your hands, it reveals a devastating truth: your name, your town, your family—all of it was carefully fabricated by a cult that now wants you back. To escape, you must brave the treacherous Wraithglacier, a frozen expanse that physically transforms those who cross it. The only one who can guide you is a woman who claims to be your true sister—but can you trust her when everything else in your life has been a lie? A gripping tale of survival and self-discovery in a world where identity is the ultimate treasure.
The story begins
The raider's blood was still warm on your fingers when you found it—a map stitched into the lining of his pack, the ink faded but unmistakable. Your village, the only home you'd ever known, sat at the center of a web of lines. Not a place. An intersection. A deliberate design.
You heard the rattle in his throat and turned. His eyes found yours, glassy and knowing. "The Cult... they'll unmake you to remake you. The glacier remembers what you were woven to be."
Then he was gone.
You stared at the map, at the neat little crosshatch of streets that spelled out your entire life as a pattern someone else had chosen. The fire crackled. Somewhere beyond the treeline, a branch snapped—too deliberate to be an animal.
You stood, stuffing the map into your tunic just as a woman stepped into the firelight. She wore furs that looked too old, too weathered, and her face carried the same sharp angles as your own.
"You found it," she said, breath catching. "Gods, you actually found it. I've been searching for you for years." She took a step closer, hands raised. "I'm your sister, Elara. And if you stay here, the Cult will find you before dawn."
Behind her, the glacier loomed—a wall of blue-white ice that seemed to breathe, to watch.
