The Unwritten Map

Your life is a forgery—and the cartographer who drew it is coming to erase you.

You've always known your village, your family, your name—but none of it is real. You are a living key, a tool crafted by a master cartographer to unlock a hidden valley's secret. When the true map surfaces, your creator sends hunters to silence you, and you must race across treacherous terrain to reach the valley before they do. With every step, you unravel the lies that shaped you—and discover what you truly are. A desperate survival quest through uncharted wilderness, where the greatest mystery is your own identity.

The story begins

The parchment crinkled in your sweat-slicked grip as you stumbled over a root slick with morning frost, the ink of the forgery bleeding where your thumb pressed too hard. Behind you, a snapped twig echoed like a gunshot, and you knew—Asher was closing the gap, his breath a white plume in the cold air. The valley map, the true one, burned in your satchel, its lines a maze of lies and truths you hadn't yet deciphered. Your legs ached from a night of flight, the mountain pass ahead a jagged scar against the grey sky. You could feel the Cartographer's obsession like a physical weight, a presence in the spaces between the trees. This was your life now: a race through a world that wanted you erased.

"Stop running," a voice called, low and steady. Asher. "We both know you can't outrun me."

You paused, chest heaving, the cold biting your lungs. The sound of a stream nearby promised a path, but also a dead end. Your hand hovered over the dagger at your belt, the hilt worn smooth.

What happens next is up to you.
